Secured By Design
The Kitemark is recognised by Secured by Design (SBD), the official police security initiative that improves the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to provide safe places to live, work, shop, and visit, and as a BSI Kitemarked fabricator, we further invest in SBD Certification, which is often a requirement for new build and commercial contract works, allowing our customers to supply these types of projects with confidence.
"The Secured by Design focus is on the critical factors that combine to deliver a product's performance - design, use, quality control and the ability to deter or prevent crime. Secured by Design recognised doorset and window products must be tested by an appropriately qualified UKAS (or an EA MLA equivalent National Accreditation Body) and certificated by an appropriately qualified third-party certification body. All Secured by Design listed products are regularly audit tested and manufacturing/fabricating facilities are subject to regular factory production control visits to ensure standards are maintained. This includes checks to ensure laminated glazing is utilised in the appropriate qualifying doorsets and windows."
