Georgian, Astragal and Leaded Glass Designs
Bars remain very popular choices as glass options. Georgian bars can be added between double glazing to give the charm and authentic appearance of a classic Georgian window.
Astragal bars are applied to a single glazing unit to give the effect of multiple panes of glass; enhancing the look of the window and giving a classic period appearance.
Timeless and classic leaded glass comes in diamond, square, Queen Anne or entirely bespoke patterns. Leaded windows complement the preference towards nostalgic house design and can be made to any design specification.
Laminated Glass
Laminated glass comprises two layers of glass with an interlayer fused together by heating.
It offers many benefits; from safety and security to UV resistance and noise reduction. For security reasons, glass that is difficult to pierce offers protection against forced entry or attack. For safety reasons, glass that holds together after breaking avoids the danger of injury from shards of glass.
Acoustic laminated glass incorporates an additional noise reducing interlayer between the fused glass layers and can be a good choice to help prevent outside noise travelling into your home when your windows are closed. This is especially useful if you live near a busy road or in a town or city centre.
